My maternal great great great great great grandfather Christophe Ravenelle dit Lalime (1720-1782) left Nancy, France and arrived in New France in May 1756 as a member of the Royal-Roussillon regiment to fight against the British Colonies in the French and Indian War. Afterwards, he and his progeny stayed in the countryside around St. Hyacinthe until my grandfather emigrated to the US in 1915. I just now writing up the story for my family of that genealogical line and your writings have been a tremendous help. Thank You!
